Kaun?

Main Khud Vi Nehi Janti
Ke Main Kaun Hoon
Kya Tum Jante Ho
Ke Tum Kaun Ho?

Jis Din Main Khud Ko Janungi
Ke Main Kaun Hoon
Shayed Uss Din Meri Safar
Khatam Ho Jayegi

Tum Shayed Mujhe
Jism Mein Dhundte Raheti Ho
Aur Shayed Main Tumhe
Ruh Mein Dhundti Raheti Hoon
Lekin Saach Toh Yeh Hain Ke
Hum Dono Ek Dussrein Ko.
Sadiyon Se Dhundte Chali Aa Rahi Hoon

Kavi Main Purush Hoon
Aur Tum Nari Ho
Kavi Main Nari Hoon
Aur Tum Purush Ho
Kavi Tum Mujhe Apni Dor
Mein Bandh Leti Ho
Aur Kavi Main Tumhe
Apni Bahon Mein Sama Leti Hoon

Hum Dono Ek Dussrein Ko
Kyun Dhundte Rahete Hain?
Koi Anjan Pyass Dono Ko
Ek Dussrein Ki Taraf Kyun Khichte Rahete Hain
Aisa Kyun Hota Hain?
Maine Apni Ruh Se Kayee Baar Pucha Hain
Lekin Aaj Tak Main Anjan Hoon

Shayed Isi Ko Mohabbat Kahete Hain
Ek Paheli Tumhari Hain
Aur Ek Paheli Meri Vi Hain
Main Janam Se Musaffir Hoon
Khudah Ne Mujhe Aise Hi Banaya Hain
Meri Kadam Shayed Chalte Chalte Thak Jaye
Lekin Mera Dil Badalon Ke Jaise Kavi
Urr Ne Se Thakti Nehi

Aur Tum Ho Meri Sine Mein
Suraj Aur Samandar Ke Milan Se
Taiyar Ek Amrit Ke Jal Dhara
Jo Meri Saath Saath Hamesha Chalti Raheti Hain
Tum Kavi Meri Sine Mein Garajti Ho
Aur Kavi Ghum Se Baras Jati Ho
Aur Kavi Pawan Ki Thandi Chhuyan Se
Meri Badan Pe Khushi Se Lipat Jati Ho

Main Khamoshi Se Tumhari Har Adah
Har Rang Har Roop Ko
Bahut Prem Se Niharti Hoon
Lekin Kavi Kavi Tum Meri
Khamoshi Ko Samajhti Nehi
Tum Isse Meri Berukhi Samajhti Ho
Aur Mujhse Siqayet Karke
Tum Tapti Zamin Mein Baras Jati Ho

Main Tab Khud Ko
Bahut Tanha Mehsus Karti Hoon
Tumse Ruth Jati Hoon
Lekin Tumhi Ko Dhunti Raheti Hoon
Tab Tum Meri Bechainee Samajhti Ho
Suraj Aur Samandar Phir Se Dono Ek Ho Jate Hain
Aur Tum Meri Bahon Mein Wapas Chali Aati Ho

Kavi Dekho Toh Jhaank Ke Dharti Pe
Hum Dono Ki Iss Khel Mein
Hum Dono Ki Iss Mel Mein
Mitti Kitni Hasin Hoti Hain
Aur Dharti Ke Sine Mein Hariyali Khilti Hain
Jaise Ek Indradhanush Mein
Saaton Rangon Ke Mel Hoti Hain

Ek Khat

Siqayetein Hoti Hain Zindegi Se Har Dafah
Roz Zindegi Ko Koss Ne Se Yeh Dil Thakti Nehi
Dard Se Roz Hoti Hain Amna Samna
Lekin Jhuthe Dilaso Se Udasi Dakti Nehi

Dard Tumhe Bahut Nafrat Ki Nazar Se Dekha
Tumse Dil Chahta Hain Picha Churana
Lekin Kavi Na Socha Iss Tarah Se Aye Dard
Ke Tumne Diya Hain Mujhe Ek Anmol Tohfa

Tumne Diya Hain Mujhe Tanhai
Tumne Diya Hain Soch-e-Geherai
Tumhari Yaadon Ne Mujhe Dubna Sikhaya
Har Ghum-e-Sham Pe Hain Tumhari Chehre Ki Parchayee

Tum Na Agar Dard Diya Hota
Toh Na Hoti Kavi Jahsn-e-Tanhai Ki Suroor
Na Hoti Kavi Iss Kalam Se Itni Mohabbat
Na Samajti Kavi Kyun Hoti Hain Gunah
Hum Deewane Dard-e-Jigar Uthane Ko Hain Majboor

Bin Piye Tumne Mujhe Sharabi Banaya
Aur Ek Jam Bhari Aag Iss Dil Mein Lagaya
Phir Vi Tumhe Hum Dete Hain Dil Se Doah
Tumne Hi Toh Mujhe Dhool Se Ruh Tak Ka Saath Dilaya

Jab Tak Main Jiyungi Iss Duniya Mein
Banake Ek Anokhi Maqam
Tumhari Anjan Dar Pe Roz Pohuchega
Meri Dil Se Ek Salam
Tumne Diya Hain Jo Ek Alag Nazar
Duniya Ko Dekh Ne Ki
Meri Iss Alag Si Pehchan Ke Liyeh
Tumhari Karenge Adah Sukriyah
Hum Apni Zindegi Tamam

Silent Centurion :)

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was born on April 24, 1973 in Mumbai, India. He went to Shradashram Vidyamandir, a high school in Mumbai, where he began his cricketing career under his coach Ramakant Achrekar. He attended the MRF Pace Foundation during his schooldays to train as a fast bowler, but Australian fast bowler Dennis Lillee, who saw him training, was not much impressed and suggested that Tendulkar should focus on his batting instead. As a young boy, Tendulkar would practice for hours at the net, and was driven hard by his coach Achrekar.

While at school, his extraordinary batting skills got noticed by the sports circuit. People felt that the young boy would soon become one of the greats in cricket. In the 1988 season, he scored a century in every inning that he played. In one of the inter school matches that year, he had an unbroken 664-run partnership with friend and team mate Vinod Kambli.

When he was 14, Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar a great Indian batsman of that time, gave him a pair of his own light pads. This touching gesture greatly encouraged the budding cricketer, who 20 years later broke Gavaskar’s world record of 34 Test centuries.
In 1988, when he was just under 16, he scored 100 not out in for Bombay against Gujrat. This was on his first-class debut. He then scored a century in his first appearance in the Deodhar and Duleep Trophy. Mumbai captain Dilip Vengsarkar picked him up after seeing him batting Kapil Dev in the nets. That season he was Bombay’s highest run-getter. In the Irani Trophy final, He made an unbeaten century. He scored a century in all three of his Irani Trophy, Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy debuts, and became the first player to do so. He was selected for the tour of Pakistan next year.

At the very young age of 16, Sachin played his first Test match against Pakistan in Karachi in 1989. In this Test, he received several blows to his body at the hands of Waqar Younis, a pace bowler. He made just 15 runs. In the last test in Sialkot, he had a bloody nose from a bouncer, but he went on playing. He scored better in the subsequent games, scoring 53 runs of 18 balls at Peshawar.

In the 1990 Test in England he scored a century at Old Trafford. The English were highly impressed by his disciplined display of immense maturity. He played many types of strokes. His off-side shots from the back foot greatly impressed the English. Though short in height, he confidently faced short deliveries from the English pace bowlers. His great performance made him look the embodiment of Gavaskar, India’s former famous opener.

During the 1991-1992 tour of Australia Tendulkar scored and unbeaten 148 in Sydney and another century on a bouncing pitch a Perth.

At the age of 19, Tendulkar was in England, playing for Yorkshire in 1992. He scored 1070 runs at an average of 45.25 while playing for the English county as the first overseas player.
In the 2003 Cricket World Cup, he made 673 runs in 11 matches which enabled India reach the final. Although Australia won the trophy Tendulkar was given the Man of the Tournament award.

Shortly after this Tendulkar developed a tennis elbow and he was out of cricket for a while. But by 2005, he was back in form. He played well against Australia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Tendulkar performed very well against Bangla Desh and he was adjudged the Man of the Series in the Future Cup against South Africa.

Today Tendulkar is a national icon to fans all over the world. He is the most worshipped cricketer in the world. Tendulkar has been granted the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Shri, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, Arjuna Award, Padma Vibhushan by the Indian government.

Personal Life

In 1995, Sachin married Anjali, a doctor and the daughter of Gujarati industrialist Anand Mehta. They have two children, Sara and Arjun. Tendulkar now sponsors 200 underprivileged children every year through a Mumbai-based NGO.

Coffee

Life Hain Coffee Ke Jaise

Thori Si Karwi Aur Thori Si Mithie Vi
Dhuan Utha Hain Iss Ki Kali Gaheri Badan Se
Lekin Bahut Hi Garam Joshi Se Khusbu Faaila Ti Hain

Meri Har Raat Mein Jab Main
Tanhai Se Lipat  Jati Hoon
Toh Ek Peyala Coffee Ke Zaika
Meri Zaban Ko Chu Jati Hain
Aur Woh Kali Kali Asman Mein
Jo Sitare Khamoshi Se Muskurati Hain
Tab Lagta Hain Ke Yeh Raat Vi Shayed
Coffee Ke Jaise Kisi Karwi Ghut Pee Rahin Hain
Lekin Khudah Ne Apni Hatheli Se Ek Chammach
Mithi Sitare Uss Ki Badan Mein Ghol Diya Hain
Aur Woh Chand Apni Safed Plate Pe
Sari Dard Raat ki Samet Liya Hain

Coffee Mujhe Susti Se Jagati Hain
Aur Meri Bookshelf Ke Samne Para Ek Guiter
Jo Kafi Dino Se Bina Dhun Ki Sangat Ke
Tanha Khara Hain Ek Khamosh Buut Ke Jaise
Achanak Meri Haathon Ke Chhuan Se Jag Uthta Hain
Main Usse Apni Bahon Mein Var Leti Hoon
Aur Jo Kuch Na Kahe Sakti Hoon Main
Labzon Ke Zariye Woh Main Saaz
Chher Ke Bayan Karti Hoon

Coffee Kali Hain Na Iss Mein Rangat Ki Lali Hain
Lekin Na Jane Kya Assar Kar Deti Hain Dimag Mein
Ke Sangeet Apni Laharon Se Meri Duniya Abad Karti Hain
Main Hoon Sari Rasmon Se Bandha
Lekin Meri Khushi Ko
Woh Gum Se Azad Karti Hain
Coffee Bahar Se Hain Shaant Shushil
Ek Lamha Jaise Thehere Hue Kali Talab Ke Jaise
Lekin Jab Zaban Se Hoke Charhti Hain Dimag Mein
Meri Nas Nas Dil Ki Har Ek Tar Usski Tufan Se
Bahe Jati Hain Aur Dabi Si Shor Se Kahe Jati Hain
Tum Zindah Ho Tum Zindah Ho Tum Zindah Ho

Coffee Kali Hain, Ek Raas Bhari Piyali Hain
Cup Se Khatam Ho Jaye To Khali Hain
Lekin Jism Se Jab Woh Guzrein Toh Ek Dilwali Hain
Coffee Kali Hain Lekin Ek Matwali
Aur Bahut Manchali Hain
Coffee Tu Nirali Hain Coffee Tu Ek Paheli Hain
Kuch Vi Hain Tu Lekin Meri Ek Anokhi Saheli Hain

Dynamic Dokra

The ancient Indian art forms are integrally weaved into the local lifestyle of people making the art iconic for the region. The older the art more unique and raw is the style, method and the design making it esteemed and looked upon. The exquisite Dhokra or bell metal craft in Chattisgarh, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal is an essential part of the life of tribals and their life is incomplete without the art; its products are used right from birth to death for all the rituals, events and social occasions which are celebrated with the Dhokra products, mainly idols. The actual establishment of this craft lies in the practices of the people and religious beliefs.
When you pick up each Dokra product it takes you the sacred lands and gives a realization how sacred our country is with rich tradition, culture and art. The Indian art and craft industry supports numerous artisans where three million of them are metal artisans being the majority amongst rest working under other sections. Bell metal craft provides employment to many villagers across India. Since metal artisans / blacksmiths are in a larger number they play a vital role in protecting and encouraging the art till date. The most important is that the children of these artisans also learn the art at an early age with their parental guidance and take ahead the art for generations.

Places of practice
  • The main clusters of Bastar in Chattisgarh for Dhokra art are Kondagaon and Jagdalpur regions. Besides these, Barkai, Ektaguda, Sirmud, Karanpur and Nangur are also some of the places where this art is practiced. Most of the figures made in Bastar are blunt and plain compared to products made in other states.
  •  Places like Ushegaon and Chittabori in Adilabad district of Andhra Pradesh are chief centers of Dokra.  Figures such as drummers, horses, decoration accessories, tribal deities are created with great artistry with Dokra art as well as brass artwork.
  • Dokra art is practiced in Puri, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Phulbani, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj and Khurda in Orissa. On the other hand a community known as Kansari of Orissa is skilled at making good Dhokra cook ware. In addition to this, Orissa is known for detailed versions of the metal craft.
  • In West Bengal it is practiced in districts of Purulia, Burdwan, Bankura and Midnapore. The craftsmen of West Bengal are called Dokra Kamaras and are considered as social outcasts.
  • As Bastar is surrounded by Maharashtra state, Dokhra art is also spread here to some extent and products are available in the nearby regions. It’s also become a specialty of semi-tribals communities in living at the mountain ranges of Vindhya.
Dhokra Art History and Tradition

Dhokra is the oldest form of metal casting which is prevailing in India over 4000 years. This art is considered very important and popular because of its wide usage, cultural connectivity, originality and folk character. Till date the primitive techniques are being used in the making which is the lost or vanishing wax casting method. The earliest Dhokra artifact known and found is the dancing girl at Mohenjodaro and Harappa civilization which specifies dominance and continuity of the art.
Origin of the artisans

The community involved in Dhokra art is called Ghadwas which are groups of artisans who supplied utensils made out of brass and other metals to the villages for their daily use. They claim that their ancestors were tribals and had migrated from Maharashtra and got settled in Bastar many centuries ago. There are many tales told about the origin of Ghadwa groups, one of the maximum heard one is- About 3000 years ago there was a ruler of Bastar who was gifted with a Dhokra art necklace for his beloved wife. Looking at the beauty of the craft he honored the craftsmen as “Ghadwa”. The name Ghadwa has been derived from the word Ghalna meaning melting and working with wax. It’s also derived from the word Ghadna which means to make, it also means act of shaping and creating. Besides these names, these artisans are also called as in vishwakarmas, ghasias, mangan and khaser some of the regions.

Artifacts and designs of Dhokra Art
  • Domestic Items: Utility products made are normally containers like bowls and glasses to measure rice or grains. But the purchase of Dhokra domestic utensils have gone low in the past few years.
  • Religious Artifacts: The major motifs and themes include structures which are worshipped like the sun, moon, mountains, fields, forests and flora-fauna. Traditionally idols of local deities, Gondidevi Matamurti, etc. were made. But nowadays we will find idols of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Durga, elephant, horse and nandi bull made as decorative pieces and for worship too. Some items for example kalash which is a ritual pot is requested and purchased as offering.
  • Dhokra Jewellery: In the section of Dokra jewelry plethora of forms are crafted into beautiful and artistic jewellery which have the typical ancient motifs and themes, such as large hole beads made from dokra art put together to make necklaces marks a proper piece of tribal jewellery. But, now-a-days we will find some ornaments with a fusion of contemporary art and ethnicity. To illustrate, glass beads, stone or plastic beads are used in necklaces and are connected with pendant made from Dhokra art. Similar method is followed for earrings and other trinkets with floral designs. In addition, there is a high demand for jewelry making which includes anklets, anklet bells (ghungrus), nose rings, toe-rings, etc.
  • Contemporary Products: Accessories like bells, door handles, vases, incense stick holders, lamps, water jugs, and key holders are also a part of this admirable art. Decorative items include candle stands, pen stands, ash trays, mobile holders, etc. are often made as modifications to get adjusted with the present demand and needs of customers. Dhokra handicrafts also comprises of ornamental animals, tribal figures and so on.
Current Scenario of Dhokra Art and the artisans of Bastar

Presently about 600 artisans are working in Bastar on Dhokra Art. Among these very few have engaged them with Self Help Groups (SHG`s) and are actively working. While on the other hand most of the artisans are not available when required and don’t desire to continue. This could be possible because of the tedious work one has to put in or relatively low wages offered. But due to the high demand for the Dhokra products there is work readily available all the time. Hence, many people have shifted from daily wage jobs and involved themselves in Dhokra Art. Government has started many training programmes to induce and encourage new artisans. Besides, some organizations offer aid and assistance to the existing artisans in the art along with modification and timely updates.
One of these organizations is Saathi Samaj Sewa Sansthan which is in Kondagaon. This not only promotes and markets Dhokra Art but other traditional arts and crafts of Bastar. This organization also provides livelihood to all the artisans in the region along with health and education facilities. The members of Saathi Samaj Sewa Sansthan have till date helped in regards to marketing, technical and provided financial support to about 40 SHG`s in the region who are engaged in Dhokra Art. All Dhokra Art products are also marketed through this organization in exhibitions across the country.

Constraints of Dhokra Art

Dhokra Art to an extent is facing issues with raw material availability as the scrap metal has to be purchased from the market is getting expensive. Also the making requires wood and bees wax which is again not easy to acquire due to the depletion of forest resources. Thought there are many artisans working on Dhokra Art, there is a constant risk and fear of the working hazards.
Villcart is proud to be associated with Saathi Samaj Sewa Sansthan and procures all Dhokra Art products form them. Hence, when you buy each product you support the artisans with livelihood and help the organization develop in a sustainable way.
The originality, form and its raw beauty makes the art desirable all over India and abroad as well giving the artisans a paramount position in the art domain and their due reverence.

Rutwah

Ishq Hum Dono Ko Jalaye
Ishq Hum Dono Ko Bujhaye
Yeh Ishq Hain Woh Jannat Ka Badhshah
Jo Hum Insano Ko Kavi Kismat-e- Amir
Toh Kavi Gubar-e-Fakir Banaye

Hum Dono Larte Hain
Lekin Dono Hi Aah Varte Hain
Ek Pal Hasste Hain
Toh Duji Pal Rote Hain
Tum Na Jhuko Mere Samne
Main Na Jhukau Sar Tumhare Aagey
Lekin Such Toh Yehi Hain Aye Mere Sanam
Iss Ishq Ki Aagey Hum Dono Hi Hain Sar Jhukaye

Ishq Ki Raah Ko Khudah Ne Ashqon Se Nawazah
Dard Aur Ghum Ki Kaaton Se Sajaye
Kaise Karoge Hassil Ulfat-e-Gul Ko
Bina Surkh-e-Dil Ki Lahu Ke Dariyah Mein Nahaye
Karo Varosa Mujhpe Sanam
Bass Itna Hi Tumse Hain Iltezah
Phir Dekho Khudah Vi Hamari
Mohabbat Pe Karega Naz
Chahe Woh Kitna Vi Zulum O Sitam Uthale

Yeh Kharoche Yeh Jalan Yeh Dard
Ishq Ki Diye Har Pal Ki Imtehaan Hain
Hum Marte Hain Dum Torte Hain
Pyar Mein Sau Dafah
Hamari Kurbani Se Ishq Hoti Jawan Hain
Yeh Daulat Ki Lalach Nehi
Yeh Shaurat Ki Chahat Nehi
Yeh Jung Hain Ishq Ke Azmaish Ki
Hum Parwano Ki Jalte Badan Ki Shaan Se
Chirag-e-Ishq Ki Diya Hoti Roushan Hain

Yeh Ishq Hain Parbat Ke Jaise
Bahar Se Hain Bahut Shaqt Aur Dukhat Vi
Lekin Jab Jhaanko Gaherayi Se Iss Ke Dil Ke Andar
Toh Ek Baheta Dariya Khamoshi Se Guzar Te Hue Pao Ge
Na Daro Jung-e-Ulfat Se
Yeh Sadiyon Se Chalte Hue Ek Rasam Hain
Main Hoon Saath Tumhare Hamesha
Meri Jaan Mujhe Uss Rab Ki Kasam Hain
Agar Ishq Jalaye Toh Jalne Do
Rut-e-Rangat Ki Mausam Ko Laakhon Bar Badal Ne Do
Main Tumhari Hoon Aur Tum Ho Meri
Iss Saach Ko Khudah Ke Jaise Hamesha Kaiyem Rahene Do

Roaring Roggy !!! :)

Proclaimed the greatest player of all time by TENNIS magazine on its September 2009 cover, Roger Federer claimed the all-time record for Grand Slam singles titles by winning Wimbledon, his 15th major victory, in 2009. The Swiss stylist opened 2010 by beating Andy Murray to win his record-extending 16th Grand Slam singles title at the Australian Open. Federer won Wimbledon five consecutive times from 2003 to 2007 and lost in the 2008 final to rival Rafael Nadal in what is considered by many to be the best match ever played. The lost was Federer’s first on grass since 2002 and ended a record 65-match winning streak on that surface. He won his sixth Wimbledon title in 2009 by outdueling Andy Roddick, 5-7, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (5), 3-6, 16-14 in the final. Federer has also won the U.S. Open five times and the Australian Open four times. He completed the career Grand Slam by winning the French Open in 2009 after having lost to Nadal in the final each of the previous three years. In 2006, Federer became the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to make all four Grand Slam finals in a calendar year, winning three of them; he repeated that feat in 2007. He also made all four finals in 2009, winning two. Federer has reached at least the semifinals of the past 22 Grand Slam events, a record. Federer won five titles in nine finals in 2010, stretching his streak of winning at least three titles in a season to nine consecutive years. Federer closed the year beating Nadal to win his fifth season-ending ATP World Tour Finals title. In 2011, Federer defeated Djokovic in the Roland Garros semifinals, snapping the Serbian's 41-match winning streak in 2011; he lost to Nadal in the final. For the second straight year, the Swiss squandered two match points in a U.S. Open semifinal setback to Djokovic. Federer snapped a 10-month title drought winning his hometown tournament in Basel for the fifth time. He collected his 18th Masters Series shield beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to win the Paris Masters championship for the first time. Federer won a record sixth ATP World Tour Finals title in London, claiming his 70th career championship in his 100th final and surpassing Murray for the No. 3 spot in the rankings. Federer earned his 807th career victory, sixth on the all-time list. In Februay, 2012, Federer swept Juan Martin del Potro to collect his 71st title in Rotterdam. He collected his fifth career Dubai title in March, sweeping Andy Murray in the final. Ghar

Bahut Dino Se Bandh Para Hai Yeh Ghar Mera
Kavi Koi Chabi Toh Haath Lage Ke Khol Du Darwaze
Bahut Si Dhool Zami Hain Yaadon Ke
Aur Kuch Lamhe Kushq Patton Ke Dher Mein Dabi Hain
Bahut Hain Sannata Dil Mein Khamosh Hain Mazi Ke Awaze

Khirkiyan Bhi Bandh Hain Nazron Ki
Kuch Hadh Tak Dikhayi Dete Hain Andheron Mein
Kuch Saya Sa Guzar Jati Hain Mere Tan Ko Chu Ke
Na Chalti Hain Hawayein Purwayee Ki Na
Zaron Ke Mausam Guzar Te Hain
Ruki Hui Hain Shaashein Aise Dil Mein
Main Kho Gayi Hu Ajnabi Ek Manzil Mein
Sirf Gunjti  Hain Pukar Meri Iss Ghar Ki Kone Kone Mein
Na Uthi Hain Lahar Saazon Ki
Na Baajti Payel Ki Chhankar
Neeli Si Maykash Ki Badan Se Chalakti Hain
Kuch Badnam Sagar Khalipan Ke
Na Aati Hain Samah Karar Ke Yeh Kaisi Mehfil Hain

Mujhe Kuch Pal Dedo Fursat Ke Aye Masruf Duniya
Khol Du Khirkiyan Ke Dekhu Dhoop Ke Nazarein
Khul Ke Lene Do Shaash Mujhe Aye Deewano
Ke Bahe Jaye Fagun Ke Khussbu Dheeme Se
Aur Ek Do Pankhuriah Naram Phulon Ki Badan Se Hoke
Meri Hatheli Ko Chu Jaye
Aur Bhar Jaye Meri Daman Khusiyon Se

Kuch Barish Ki Boondein Leke Aaye Sawan
Meri Sukhi Hoth Chu Jaye
Aane Do Badal Ko Chup Ke Se Dar Pe
Aane Do Chand Ko Vi Kirno Ke Saath
Main Hu Inn Sabki Intezar Mein
Aye Sitarein Asman Ke Kahedo Inn Savi Se
Mere Ghar Mein Aane Se Yeh Na Sharmayein

Yeh Raat Ki Ghar Hain Jassbat Ki Ghar Hain
Sapno Mein Khoye Ek Tanha Rahi Ki
Bechain Sa Aur Benam Sa Safar Hain
Iss Ki Deewarein Hain Nayi Rangon Ki Chahat Mein
Bahut Hi Nazuk Lekin Bahut Hi Hasin Ek Khowab Hain
Ek Musafir Chalte Chalte Yehi Pe Thahar Gaya Hain
Ek Musafir Chalte Chalte Yehi Pe Thahar Gaya Hain

Moon of Murshid :)

Hindus attach paramount importance to spiritual gurus. Gurus are often equated with God and always regarded as a link between the individual and the Immortal. Just as the moon shines by reflecting the light of the sun, and glorifies it, all disciples can dazzle like the moon by gaining from their Gurus.

What is Guru Purnima?
The full moon day in the Hindu month of Ashad (July-August) is observed as the auspicious day of Guru Purnima, a day sacred to the memory of the great sage Vyasa. All Hindus are indebted to this ancient saint who edited the four Vedas, wrote the 18 Puranas, the Mahabharata and the Srimad Bhagavata. Vyasa even taught Dattatreya, who is regarded as the Guru of Gurus.

Significance of Guru Purnima
On this day, all spiritual aspirants and devotees worship Vyasa in honor of his divine personage and all disciples perform a 'puja' of their respective spiritual preceptor or 'Gurudevs'.

This day is of deep significance to the farmers, for it heralds the setting in of the much-needed rains, as the advent of cool showers usher in fresh life in the fields. It is a good time to begin your spiritual lessons. Traditionally, spiritual seekers commence to intensify their spiritual 'sadhana' from this day.

The period 'Chaturmas' ("four months") begins from this day. In the past, wandering spiritual masters and their disciples used to settle down at a place to study and discourse on the Brahma Sutras composed by Vyasa, and engage themselves in Vedantic discussions.

The Vyas purnima, popularly called Guru Purnima, is actually the birthday of Guru Ved Vyas, who edited the four Vedas, wrote 18 Puranas, Mahabharat and Srimad Bhagavata.

This full moon day in the month of Ashaad is also one of the first among the slew of festivals during the chaturmaas period.

Ved Vyas is worshipped by all students of Vedas today. Vedas are considered to be the fountainhead of all knowledge, and grateful students of the scriptures perform pujas and aarti of the great saint. Explaining the significance of Guru Purnima, Sanskrit scholar and a teacher of Yajur Veda at the Bhosala Ved Pathshaala in Mahal says, "Vyaso chishtam jagat sarvam, is a popular saying in Sanskrit. It means that all knowledge that comes from the Vedas is very superior. The students of Vedas thus express their gratitude to the great sage."

However, Pathak says that everybody should observe this day. "Guru Purnima is observed by those who are under the guidance of a guru. But those who are not, can pay their respects to their parents. Scriptures say that the mother is the first teacher followed by the father."
